Tiffani obtained her post graduate certificate in the Communicative Disorders Assistant program from Durham College with honors along with an Early Childhood Education diploma with honors. Tiffani has experience working with toddlers, preschool and school age children with various neurological disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome. Throughout her CDA placement, she had the opportunity to work with clients and provide therapy in the areas of receptive and expressive language, articulation and phonological disorders, Apraxia, Alternative and Augmentative Communication and literacy for a private practice clinic. Gloria has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies from York University, with a certification of Bilingualism in French and English. She also recently completed a Post-Graduate Certificate as a Communicative Disorders Assistant at St. Lawrence College. She has worked as an English as a Second Language teacher for many years and is very interested in working children with language delay as well as children with literacy needs.

Adrienne Barros Bsc Cda Member Of Cdaac
Adrienne has an Honours Bachelorâs of Science in Biology from the University of Waterloo. She also recently completed a Post-Graduate Certificate as a Communicative Disorders Assistant with Honours at Durham College. She has 2 years of experience working with verbal and non-verbal children and youth on the spectrum in-home, in-clinic and virtually. She has worked in a daycare and provided creative activities to facilitate physical, emotional and social growth for children with a spectrum of learning needs. She has also worked in pediatric dental offices and the Hospital of Sick Children to promote a welcoming and supportive environment.
Adrienne holds certificates in CPR/AED Level C, First Aid, WHMIS, OHSA and TEFL. She is very passionate about working with children and using the principles of play-based learning and Positive Behaviour Support to improve life outcomes. Banita has been working as an EA with the Peel Board to support children with ASD, learning disabilities, and ADHD. Andrew Otis Ba Cda Member Of Cdaac
Andrew has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Linguistics from Carleton University. He also recently completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Communicative Disorders Assistant at Lambton College. He has experience working with school-age children as well as verbal and non-children on the spectrum.
He was on his way to becoming RBT certified until deciding to join the CDA program. Working in speech therapy has always been a passion of his. He is excited to use the skills he learned in the CDA program as well as in the RBT training to help children with a variety of needs and abilities.

Mgh Institute Provost Alex F Johnson Receives Highest Honor From American Speech
BOSTON—-Alex F. Johnson, PhD, CCC-SLP, FASHA, Provost and Academic Vice President of Academic Affairs and a renowned speech-language pathologist at MGH Institute of Health Professions, received the American Speech-Language-Hearing Associations highest honor on November 15 at the organizations annual meeting.
Dr. Johnson, who joined the MGH Institute in 2008, received the Honors of ASHA award for his contributions to the profession.
The Honors is ASHA’s most prestigious award, given each year to a select few members whose work has changed the course of their profession.
We are proud that Dr. Johnson is being recognized for his many contributions in the field of speech-language pathology, said MGH Institute President Janis P. Bellack, PhD, RN, FAAN.
In addition to being the chief academic officer at the Boston graduate school, Dr. Johnson is also Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, and on the faculty of the Harvard-MIT Program in Speech and Hearing Bioscience and Technology.
Dr. Johnson, who in 2006 served as the president of ASHA, previously was designated as a Fellow of ASHA.

Sehrish Datoo Bs Mhsc Speech
Sehrish has a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida. She then completed her Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto.
Sehrish has collaborated with patients, their families and health care professionals while providing speech, language and dysphagia services to both adults and children of various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Sehrish has experience working with developmental disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down’s syndrome and adults with dysphagia including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and stroke. Additionally, Krystina attended Dalhousie University to diversify her degree, enrolling in Neuroscience, Physiology, Anatomy and Lan-guage/Linguisticscourses. She has also obtained level I Picture Ex-change Communication System training.
Krystina has years of experience working with a variety of individu-als with a wide range of physical, cognitive and communicative abilities. She has experience providing literacy support as well as articulation and language therapy to pre-school and school-aged children in a school or home setting. Krystina also has experience working with individuals with ASD and other neuro-developmental disorders and developmental disa-bilities, such as CHARGE syndrome.

She also has experience working with clients with reading, articulation articulation, phonology, fluency, and also experi-ence providing therapy using PECS, high tech AAC devices ,low tech AAC devices and communication books. Her clinical practicum as a CDA student gave her experience with using high tech AAC devices as well as PECS at Surrey Place in the Augmentative Communication and Writing Program. Lavanya’s goal is to support individuals to communicate in any form and to use her skills to the best of her abilities.

Emily Adler has an Honours Bachelors of Cognitive Science and Linguistics from McMaster University with much experience in the realm of the anatomy of speech and hearing.
She recently completed a Post-Graduate certificate to be a Communicative Disorders Assistant to provide therapy under Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists in Ontario.
She has completed 6 years of experience working with individuals of all ages and abilities, including late talkers, those on the autism spectrum, individuals with social communication disorders, dyslexia, dysgraphia, developmental coordination disorder, Tourettes syndrome, stuttering and cluttering, and overall difficulties with speech and reading. Additionally, she has special experience working with adults who have suffered strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and/or suffer from Alzheimerâs disease and/or dementia, and ALS/Parkinsonâs disease. Eryn Boyle Ece Cda Member Of Cdaac
Eryn holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education and a Communicative Disorders Assistant certificate from St. Lawrence College in Kingston. Eryn has observed and been a participant in applying and facilitating various types of speech therapy for paediatric populations including articulation, early and late language, social communication, and some low tech AAC. She has been exposed to language and development in various paediatric settings, and understands the importance of communication while meeting the needs of clients and families to better their quality of life.
Eryn feels comfortable working with clients who have been diagnosed with ASD, D.S, and C.P, based on the experiences she gained from her clinical placement. The Dr. Charles A. and Ann Sanders IMPACT Practice Center houses the Speech, Language and Literacy Center . The SLLC provides comprehensive assessment, therapy and specialty services to children and adults with communication and reading difficulties.
The IMPACT Practice Center brings together students from nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, speech-language pathology/language and literacy, and genetic counseling to learn and practice in teams and to deliver essential free care to the community.
Students provide care to a variety of clients, under the direct supervision of Institute faculty. Karen has graduated from the Speech and Language Science Bachelors program at Brock University with honours, majoring in Speech. She has also completed, with honours, the Communicative Disorders Assistant post-graduate program at Lambton College.

Rebecca Inzana ’97 Joins Mgh Institute
Rebecca Santos Inzana ’97, MS, CCC-SLP, has joined MGH Institute of Health Professions as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences.
Inzana joined the MGH Institute faculty in a joint appointment with Mass General, teaching Foundations of Medical Speech-Language Pathology and championing the new medical speech pathology concentration in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, while continuing her clinical and student program work at the hospital. MGH Institute of Health Professions, founded by Massachusetts General Hospital in 1977, is the only degree-granting affiliate of the renowned Partners HealthCare. Susan Nguyen Ba Mhsc Speech
Susan graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters in Health Sciences in Speech-Language Pathology, holds an Honours B.A. in Psychology and minors in French and Italian. She has treated individuals with voice disorders, dysarthria, aphasia, and stuttering. Susan also has experience in dysphagia assessment, treatment and management. Susan has experience with those who have sustained a stroke, neurological disorders , Alzheimerâs dementia, and Downâs syndrome. Susan works with children who have articulation, receptive and expressive language, voice, and fluency disorders. Furthermore, she has treated children whom, in addition to their speech-language disorder, also have cochlear implants, autism, and attention deficit hyperactive disorder. Susan is enthusiastic about helping clients make gains, to manage their communication and swallowing abilities in order to maximize their quality of life and to help them reach their goals with confidence. Susan is multilingual and can provide services in English, Vietnamese, French, and Italian.

“As a speech language pathologist myself, I know firsthand many of the challenges SLPs face in clinical practice today. The Post-Professional SLPD program at the IHP aims to provide practicing SLPs with the skills they need to become highly skilled, advanced clinical practitioners and field leaders within interprofessional health care and educational settings. Additionally, the SLPD will provide speech language pathologists with the opportunity to obtain an advanced degree similar to those now required by our colleagues in other rehabilitation disciplines.”
The SLPD curriculumconsists of:
Eight 3-credit core courses
Two 3-credit electives
Four 1-credit Capstone Project courses
The core courses are six weeks long and are taken one at a time. The Capstone Project courses span the entire 14-week semester and run concurrent with core classes. The Capstone Project sequence provides an opportunity to individualize your learning experience by allowing you to target a specific skill set and immediately apply it to your clinical practice.
Course content is delivered via our online learning platform and available in written, video, and auditory modes to meet all learning styles. In addition to self-directed learning, an optional weekly live session allows you to collaborate with peers and further expand opportunities to apply new knowledge.
